The Coolest Tardis Building Video I Ever Saw!

I love this video.  (Though the saw part scared me)  It is funny and offbeat and totally cool!

Homebuilt Resin Based 3D Printers

We have been focusing on the Reprap 3D printer using melted plastic through an extruder to make parts but some people are working on making a resin based 3d printer.  One that looks very cool is done by Junior Veloso.  On his blog he shows some really great looking parts including a flute, and an alien skull.  Check out the video.  He plans on starting a http://www.indiegogo.com/ project soon to fund development.

In Process SphereBot

This is a continuation of my attempts at building a Eggbot/Spherebot, a drawing plotter for eggs and spherical objects.

Layout In Sketchup

Here is the rough floor layout in sketchup with windows and columns.   I thought I would put the sketchup model here for anyone to download, but have to see how I can do that.  Email me and I will send the model to you.  Should be able to add furniture and walls etc.  Google 3d Warehouse has lots of models that can be added.

Arduino -The Documetary

Rich passed this on to me, it is the Arduino Documentary.  It has been out for a month.

EMC2 - CNC Control of a "dead" dot matrix printer.

Sorry for the poor video quality, I was trying to catch the first run on hooking up a junked Toshiba P351 dot matrix printer.  It is being controlled with a old Pentium 3 computer running EMC2 (linuxcnc.org), through the use of 2 stepper motor control boards using the parallel port of the computer.   I improvised a quick pen holder.  The holder can't pull the pen up between letters, which is why there are lines between letters.  This was just a quick and dirty setup to have some fun while testing out the stepper motors in the printer to see if they were worth saving

First 3d Anaglyph (that works)

Update on the 3D Camera.

RI Mini Makers Faire

Went to the RI Mini Makers Faire yesterday.  It was smaller than last year but still had some very cool makers.  Really looking forward to going to the NYC Makers Faire.
