Tonight’s Workshop (11/15) at CT Hackerspace Postponed Due to Predicted inclement weather. “Scaling Up with CircuitPython will be rescheduled for next month.
Paul Langdon, active maker/inventor and instructor who is involved with MakeHartford as well as being a Hackster.IO ambassador, offered a full day workshop at CT Hackerspace. All participants assembled and took home their own Prusa i3 style printer! In addition Paul covered information on how to connect the printer to their computer, set it up and actually make things. CT Hackerspace held an official unboxing night October 3rd for the Open Source Maslow CNC System. Maslow CNC is a unique “vertical” CNC router and is notable for its low cost. The unique vertical design mimics a hanging plotter allowing it to have a 4′ x 8′ cutting area with a footprint 10′ wide x 19″ deep.
Maslow CNC graciously provided CT Hackerspace the official kit to start the project. The CT Hackerspace community, active in hobbyiest CNC ventures, immediately took up a collection for additional materials needed to build out the machine. The community is excited to see the Maslow running in our workshop, side by side with 2 existing DIY CNC builds, along with the Stepcraft Multifunction CNC.
The CT Hackerspace Team will continue working on building the Maslow CNC in future Wednesday Nights as well as scheduling some longer workshops in the upcoming future weekends.

Class is on November 10th, 2018. Registration cutoff is October 27th.
Paul Langdon, active maker/inventor and instructor who is involved with MakeHartford as well as being a Hackster.IO ambassador, will be offering his class at CT Hackerspace. During this workshop, students will use a kit to assemble their own Prusa i3 style printer, which they will then get to keep and take home. They will also learn how to connect the printer to their computer, set it up and actually make things. There are no prerequisites for this class other than having a computer and being able to operate it. Cost of this class is $200, and this INCLUDES the cost of the Prusa i3 3D printer kit. A registrant is welcome to bring a friend, team, or family to help participate. (A separate $5 per person cost will be taken day of class to get Pizza/Drinks for lunch break)

You will not be fully registered for this workshop until payment is complete. $200 INCLUDES the cost of the Prusa i3 3D printer kit.

Maslow Open Source CNC Unboxing
During October 3rd’s Open Space, Join us as we will celebrate the start of CT Hackerspace’s next Group Project, the Maslow CNC. Maslow is a community driven open source project with the goal of making large format CNC technology available to everyone. We believe in a world where people everywhere can collaborate, share, and build amazing things together. We will Open up our starter package, and make plans to start this new tool build.
Maslow is a large (4’x8′) CNC cutting machine designed to let you cut big, useful things out of wood and other flat materials. Cut out a tiny house, a kayak, a tree house, some furniture, or anything else you can imagine. Maslow is designed to be affordable to buy, cheap to ship, easy to use, and powerful. Because designs can be shared digitally, you can build on the work of others or create your own from scratch.

On the heels of our fundraising event, we have new parts and a refurbished Bridgeport head to install to upgrade our current metal shop machinery. We invite all those interested in learning more about the Bridgeport intimately to be involved in seeing and participating in the rebuild.
